Battery pack retention calculation
Battery Packs - each half of bikini pack will weigh 75 kg (data from Phillip)
NEDRA section 8.1: Mounts must withstand; 8 x weight of pack horizontally = 600kg = 1323 lb 4 x weight of pack vertically = 300kg = 662 lb
From NERDA site:
IF using Grade 8.8 3/8" bolts (10mm closest metric equivalent) THEN each bolt will take a 60.4 lb load THEREFORE 1323 / 60.4 = 22 bolts per pack
IF using Grade 8.8 7/16" bolts (11.5 mm closest metric equivalent) THEN each bolt will take a 82.6 lb load THEREFORE 1323 / 82.6 = 16 bolts per pack
IF using Grade 8.8 1/2" bolts (13 mm closest metric equivalent) THEN each bolt will take a 111 lb load THEREFORE 1323 / 111 = 12 bolts per pack
IF using Grade 8.8 9/16" bolts (14.5 mm closest metric equivalent) THEN each bolt will take a 141.8 lb load THEREFORE 1323 / 141.8 = 10 bolts per pack
